Château du Tertre 2025 behoort zonder twijfel tot de meest aantrekkelijke releases uit Margaux dit jaar: een wijn met energie, precisie en uitzonderlijke klasse. Een must-buy met een zeer aantrekkelijke prijs-kwaliteitverhouding.
Hoog op een van de mooiste grindheuvels van Margaux ligt Château du Tertre: een château waar elegantie en precisie al eeuwenlang samenkomen. De jaargang 2025 markeert opnieuw een belangrijke stap vooruit voor het domein. James Suckling spreekt zelfs van “mogelijk de beste Château du Tertre ooit”.
Wat deze jaargang zo bijzonder maakt, is de combinatie van intensiteit en verfijning. Ondanks de warme en droge omstandigheden wist het team de frisheid perfect te behouden, dankzij uiterst zorgvuldige wijngaard- en kelderwerkzaamheden. Het resultaat: wijnen met zuiver fruit, zijdezachte tannines en een opvallende energie. Klassiek Margaux, maar met een moderne precisie."
Naast de Grand Vin presenteert het château ook dit jaar weer zijn karaktervolle tweede wijn Les Hauts du Tertre én de inmiddels iconische witte cuvée Tertre Blanc: een van de meest opvallende witte wijnen van Margaux.

De Grand Vin van het château toont in 2025 een indrukwekkende precisie en elegantie. Cabernet Sauvignon (65%) voert de boventoon, ondersteund door Merlot, Cabernet Franc en Petit Verdot. De wijn combineert florale finesse, grafiet, donker fruit en kruidigheid met een opvallend verfijnde structuur en een lange, energieke finale. Een Margaux met grote klasse en uitstekend bewaarpotentieel.

It’s medium-bodied with integrated and refined tannins, a powdery and textured mouthfeel and an endless finish. Juicy, succulent and clean, this has great energy and such well integrated tannins so that they give the frame and structure but very lightly letting the raspberry and red cherry fruit speak as well as a soft wet stone and flint touches. It is cohesive and focused on the nose, plenty of graphite-infused black fruit that nudges it stylistically towards Pauillac. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with, again, quite a Pauillac-like entry thanks to that graphite edge. Well defined with satisfying length, this is a classy du Tertre, one of the best I have tasted from barrel."

Juicy and lively, this has a pleasant thickness on the palate – ripe and supple tannins with bright, almost brisk acidity that give it that lifted, fun aspect. "Super floral nose, really fresh flowery scents, white blossom, jasmine, lychee, peach and pine needles, so aromatic. Crisp, juicy, round, perfectly weighted on the palate - not such high acidity, but it’s well balanced with the round fruit and not overly fleshy either. Fun, fragrant, fruity and so easy to like. Lemon sherbet, creamy peach and white pear. Ends stony fresh and cool. 3.3pH. A yield of 28hl/ha. 14% Viognier completes the blend."
