The 2025 Durfort-Vivens offers a striking mix of textural intensity and finesse. Crushed flowers, mint, lavender, sage, tobacco and incense add tons of inner sweetness and perfume. Dark red/purplish fruit emerges with time. This really opens beautifully with a bit of time in the glass, showing commendable textural presence and tons of class to match. The blend is 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot. All it needs is time to open texturally. That should come with bottle age.

James Suckling
A complex and complete wine already, with berry, cherry, orange peel, terra cotta and dried mushroom aromas. Medium-bodied with a pretty core of fruit and crunchy tannins. Savory finish. A blend of 91% cabernet sauvignon and 9% merlot, From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification.

Decanter
Rich blackcurrant aromatics, almost sweet and cool at the same time – smells so welcoming with some cola and flint touches too. The florality though is incredible, so aromatic. Svelte and long, this is focused with a clean, really sapid expression and gorgeous juiciness – almost with a sweetness that just makes you smile before focusing and straightening with a crushed stone aspect on the finish. More red fruits than black like Ferriere. Great construction with such gentle tannins, really quite flawless with a clear cola and flint aspect. A yield of 25hl/ha. Ageing 18 months, 45% new barrels, 40% foudres and 15% in amphoras.
