Wanneer mensen aan Chanel denken, denken ze aan mode. Bordeauxliefhebbers weten beter. Al ruim dertig jaar investeert Chanel stilletjes in enkele van de meest prestigieuze wijnhuizen van Bordeaux: Château Canon en Château Rauzan-Ségla.
Onder dezelfde leiding groeiden beide châteaux uit tot referenties binnen hun appellaties. De 2025 laat zien waarom: loepzuivere fruitexpressie, indrukwekkende precisie en een stijl die meer dan ooit het terroir naar voren brengt.
Leuk weetje: aan het roer staat Nicolas Audebert, de directeur die Chanel voor beide châteaux aanstelde en die eerder werkte bij Krug en Cheval des Andes.

"The 2025 Canon is a total stunner. Deep and sumptuous in the glass, it offers tons of the vintage's textural intensity along with all the vibrant, saline energy that is such a signature here. Dark-fleshed fruit, mocha, new leather, herbs and dried flowers build gradually in the glass, leading to a huge, dramatic finish laced with hints of blood orange, pomegranate and chalk. The interplay of finesse and power is dazzling. Tasted two times. 2035-2065."

The 2025 is of course very young. The year's natural concentration is its most evident signature at this time, but the rest will surely follow. Polished, supremely elegant tannins support the finish.
