The 2015 Bourgneuf has a backward nose that demands some coaxing from the glass: broody, tertiary black fruit laced with bay leaf and cedar. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin, fresh black fruit bisected by a keen line of acidity and feeling a little pointed on the finish when I would like just a tad more flesh. Yet I admire the tension here, and I have a feeling that it will repay bottle age.

Again maintaining the success that this estate showed en primeur, and reflecting the positive changes made at the property under a new generation led by Frederic Vayron. Well integrated tannins, with blackberry fruit which feels suspended as it tightropes through the palate. This should age well.
