A serious wine that will delight patient purists, but which also showcases the new levels of purity and precision that this estate has been attaining since completion of the new winery, the 2024 Léoville Barton is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Unwinding in the glass with notes of cassis, plums, pencil shavings and violets, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and impressively concentrated, with a taut but nicely integrated profile, concluding with a pure, penetrating finish.

The 2024 Langoa-Barton is such a pretty wine. Floral and bright, with lovely mid-weight structure, Langoa is a total charmer. Rose petal, crushed red berry fruit, spice, orange peel and mint are beautifully lifted. Bright saline undertones extend the finish. The 2024 is a promising Langoa.

A firm and refined red with blackcurrant and mineral character. Medium-bodied, chewy and polished, suggesting well-selected grapes for the vintage. Well done.

Fragrant raspberry and red cherry on the nose. Floral scents with some herbal, blackcurrant leaf aspects too. Grippy and lively, this has personality with bright cherry fruit, clean and clear, before slightly salty but fine tannins come in. Round and soft, crushed velvet with a gentle persistence. I love the structure and the overall weight, the Cabernet really shining. Compact on the finish where the tannins reside but this has a nice elegance and lift. Ageing 60% new oak. Tasted twice.
