Robert Parker
Jean-Pierre Moueix's "fermage" of this estate began in 1962, and his eponymous firm has only just acquired ownership of the vineyards to produce the 2023 Latour à Pomerol, which gives one a sense of how long it can take to acquire land in Pomerol! Offering up aromas of minty cherries, cassis, rose petals and petroleum jelly, the wine is medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with a generous core of sun-kissed fruit, sweet, powdery tannins and a broad, penetrating finish.

The 2023 Latour à Pomerol is a powerful wine. Swaths of tannin make a strong opening impression. There's plenty of fruit behind all that structure, but this is a wine that could go either way during élevage. In other words, it may come together more fully, or not. 2028-2043

James Suckling
This is structured and focused, with firm tannins and a polished texture. Seamless and long with medium to full body. Deep and layered on the palate, building to a rather muscular finish. Big at the end. Almost rustic in style. 100% merlot.
