Château Latour à Pomerol
Weer zo'n fraaie wijn uit de Moueix-stal. Donker/zwart van kleur met aroma's van zwarte bessen en pruimen. Voldoende frisheid waardoor de wijn niet zwaar wordt. Een voorname Pomerol zoals je die mag verwachten van de keizer van de streek J.P. Moueix.

Wijnhuis "Château Latour à Pomerol"
In de 18e eeuw behoorde het Château bij de bezittingen van de familie Chambaud. In 1875 huwde de enige erfgename met Louis Garitey die eigenaar bleef tot 1914 waarna het bezit verdeeld werd. Een deel kwam in bezit van madame Edmond Loubat die toen ook eigenaresse was van Château Pétrus. Latour werd in die jaren al gezien als één van de allerbeste wijngoederen van Pomerol. In 1961 erfde haar nicht madame Lilly Lacoste het kasteel met wijngaarden. In 1962 werd Latour ondergebracht bij de firma J.P.Moueix. De totale oppervlakte is slechts 7,9 ha en beplant met 90% Merlot en 10% Cabernet-Franc met een gemiddelde leeftijd van 35 jaar. De wijn is schaars en er wordt geen tweede wijn gemaakt.

The 2025 Latour à Pomerol is lovely, offering up aromas of cherries and sweet berry fruit complemented by hints of petals and spices. Medium- to full-bodied, polished and suave, it's deep and seamless, with ripe tannins, bright fruit flavors and a long, penetrating finish. This stands out as one of this estate's finest vintages in recent years.

The 2025 Latour à Pomerol is a dense, heady Pomerol. Super-ripe red fruit, mocha, spice, saddle leather and dried flowers flesh out in the glass. Soft curves frame succulent fruit through the pliant mid-palate and into the resonant finish. Latour à Pomerol is not terribly complex, but it is quite delicious.

Decanter
Creamy vanilla, rose petal and strawberry aromas on the nose. Smooth and succulent, quite a quiet wine right now, definitely not shouting and not as plump as it can be, but it’s clean and focused with a relaxed charm. Hands off, nothing shouting or trying too hard. Delicate, finessed, softly juicy and slightly grippy. Everything is in balance; it's just a notch away from where this wine usually is. Ends cool with cola, sticky liquorice, clove and aniseed spice. A little dark.
