The golden-yellow colored 2022 Nackenheim Riesling 1G opens with a beautifully clear, refined, savory and still a bit reductive bouquet of fully ripe small yellow fruits like mirabelles. On the palate, this is a crystalline, refined and straight but also juicy and very elegant Nackenheimer that finishes with mouthwatering grip and mineral tension. Still young, the 2022 will benefit from further bottle age but has great finesse and elegance and a very long and mouthwatering finish. 12% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2023.

The 2022 Riesling Nackenheim is from the sites of Eselsberg Erste Lage and the younger vines of Rothenberg on the rhyolite of the Red Slope. Both dried herb savor and the merest touch of nuttiness promise richness and concentration. The palate is concentrated, with a texture whose grapefruit-like pithiness helps the ripe acidity shine. Balanced, very juicy and subtly aromatic. (Bone-dry)
