Omschrijving
Lafleur is een klein Château van slechts 4,5 hectare, gelegen tegenover Petrus, en dateert uit 1872. De huidige eigenaren zijn Sylvie en Jacques Guinadeau, die er in 1980 getrouwd zijn en sindsdien samen deze wijn maken. De wijngaard "Lafleur" is gelegen op de top van het plateau van Pomerol, met een unieke combinatie van vier bodemsoorten: klei, grindachtige klei, grindachtige zandgrond en zandigekleigrond. De grond is hier rijk aan kalium, een stof die in de natuur te vinden is in zowel aarde als zee en die een belangrijke natuurlijke meststof is. Lafleur beschikt dan ook over een bijzonder terroir, rijk aan deze natuurlijke stoffen waarin ook het ijzergehalte hoog is. De opbrengst is heel klein als gevolg van de strenge selectie, wat leidt tot een bijzondere combinatie van kracht en finesse en wat Lafleur tot een zeldzame en begeerde wijn maakt.

Robert Parker Regularly one of the standout dry white wines from the Bordeaux appellation, the 2021 Blanc, a blend of 73% Sauvignon (picked on the 9th, 11th and 13th of September) and 27% Sémillon (picked on the 7th of September), offers up a fresh, delicate and elegant bouquet with aromas of lemon oil, lemon, spices, lime tree leaves, menthol and perfectly ripe orchard fruits. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and racy, it's layered and seamless, its concentrated core of fruit framed by racy acids and a calcareous, saline finish.

Vinous The 2021 Les Champs Libres is one of the best editions of this wine yet. Rich and explosive, with tremendous dimension, the 2021 screams with character. Pear, white flowers, slate, mint and a kiss of French oak all race out of the glass. The 2021 is fabulous. I would be thrilled to own it.

Decanter Creamy herbs, green and red apples, oranges and truffles. Very hard to tell the grape variety from the nose. Filling and fleshy, bright and smooth, mouthwatering and fresh, succulent and just so enjoyable. Gorgeous density yet lightness, you get a ton of lemon and lime, green apple and soft bitter orange elements with saline undertones and a sense of energy and direction. It's a mouthful but leaves no trace of heaviness. Again, where the reds truly shine is the nuance at the end, and this has that. A few minutes later you're still tasting all the nuances and makes you think this is an excellent white Bordeaux. Refreshing, tangy, moreish and clean. Fabulous.
