Clos du Marquis
Le Petit Clos, een historische wijngaard van 4,5 hectare en ooit de privétuin van de eerste Markies de Las Cases, grenst aan het kasteel bij Saint-Julien. De druiven zijn afkomstig van de beste terroirs van de appellatie, omringd door verschillende Grand Cru's. Dit domein produceert een levendige wijn met smaken van zwarte bessen en bramen, verrijkt met maken van zwarte bessen en bramen, verrijkt met hints van chocolade en walnoten. Medium- tot full-bodied, met een levendige zuurgraad die spanning en frisheid toevoegt. Zeer fijn en gepolijst, met mooi geïntegreerde tannines en een lange afdronk.

Wijnhuis "Château Léoville-Las Cases"
Château Léoville Las Cases is een van de oudste domeinen in de Médoc. Het château behoort sinds 1901 tot de familie Delon en staat bekend als "Super Second". Het terroir ligt met name in de Clos van Léoville Las Cases, bij het verlaten van Saint-Julien in de richting van Pauillac. Het ligt deels direct naast Château Latour. De maar liefst 97 hectare wijngaarden in het kleine Saint-Julien zijn beplant met cabernet sauvignon en cabernet franc. De wijnen zijn complex, gepolijst en uniek en genieten sinds jaar en dag een grote bekendheid.

Robert Parker
A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc that attained 12.9% alcohol, the 2024 Clos du Marquis unwinds in the glass with notes of cassis, iris and pencil shavings, followed by a medium-bodied, taut and incisive palate with good depth and persistence. It's a serious wine, but it will require patience.

Vinous
The 2024 Clos du Marquis was cropped at 32 hl/ha between September and 25 October 10. It matured in 50% new oak barrels for 16 months. This has an expressive bouquet with blackberry, blueberry and light violet scents that lend it Margaux-like allure. The palate is medium-bodied with a citric entry thanks to the acidity, edgy tannins and more black fruit laced with cedar and graphite toward the finish. Give this three or four years in bottle. This is slightly leaner, but it maintains focus.

A very fragrant, mineral-driven nose. This has some depth but remains poised and refined with a thin gauze of fine, chalky tannins that dissolve throughout the palate. Long and almost ethereal. Spot-on balance and poise, the terroir showing through in a delicate, transparent vintage like this one. Slightly lighter than previous years but a more “intellectual” wine. 65% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot and 5% cabernet franc.

Decanter
Cool blue fruit, crayon, violets, liquorice and plum. Deeply perfumed and gorgeous purple colour. Juicy and plentiful, clean and lean with some slate and liquorice. Can feel the terroir straight away, grippy and intense with a lovely bouncy layer of dark fruit underneath. Richness and texture is there, this is a serious wine with so much concentration balanced against straight and direct tannins. Funnelled but salty, juicy, sweet, sour - all combining here to be so elegant and enjoyable. A very accomplished wine not trying too hard. Cool and delightfully enjoyable. Stylish. Ageing 50% new barrels for 16 months. 7.6% press. 3.62pH.
